Elegant porcelain plate from the Sèvres manufactory, made in 1882 and gilded in 1883, executed in the refined neoclassical style. The rich cobalt-blue border, known as “bleu de Sèvres,” contrasts beautifully with the central gilded motif of Mercury, god of commerce and travel. The intricate design also features medallions with symbolic animals — including a tortoise, rooster, and ram — framed by laurel foliage, emblematic of wisdom and victory.
